By Rail / Train

Southampton Central is the closest train station. There are frequent connections to Southampton Airport Parkway as well as numerous local and national services. The distance between the station and the terminal is just under a mile.

The cost of a trip between the dedicated ranks on either side of the station ranges from roughly £8 to £10.

By Air

Southampton Airport is the closest airport to Southampton Port. Taxis are the fastest method to get to the port if you are flying in, but there are also frequent trains that go to Southampton Airport Parkway, which is about a 5-minute walk from the airport.

Smokers Note:

All areas of the terminals are non-smoking. The approved smoking area is available outside the terminal buildings. Use the trash can supplied; failing to do so will result in an immediate £80 punishment in the UK.

City Cruise Terminal Southampton

One of Southampton Port's busiest terminals is City Cruise Terminal. By car or public transportation, the terminal is conveniently located. If you're driving, take the A33, West Quay Road, and drive in the direction of the Western Docks. Search for Dock Gate 10 signs.

Opposite the main building is a short-term Pay & Display parking lot with handicapped parking spaces close by the drop-off location.

Arrivals

There is an arrivals lounge in City Cruise Terminal with cosy seating for travellers. This is accessible to the general public, giving your friends and family who are coming to meet you a place to wait indoors in reasonable comfort.

Toilets with standard and accessible access, vending machines with a small selection of drinks and snacks, and a magazine stand with a selection of free periodicals are all available in the arrivals area. You may also get copies of Map & Guide to Southampton, which is useful for figuring out what's nearby as well as what the city has to offer.

Departures

There is a designated luggage drop-off place outside the terminal. Just stop by and leave your stuff with the porters before going to the parking lot.

Check-In

Head into the terminal as soon as your luggage is safely with the porters (but keep any hand luggage with you). Before checking in, you will need to go through security, so be prepared with your tickets and passport.

Getting Here

Finding the terminal is not too difficult if you are travelling by car. Just follow the A33 heading for the Western Docks via Dock Gate 10. There is no reason to worry because signs are plain and frequent.

Southampton Central train station is about a mile away from the terminal and can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes. Although there are a few shortcuts, using a taxi is the simplest option.

Parking

A short term Pay & Display car park is available opposite the terminal. There are disabled bays close to the drop-off area, but you must let ABP know in advance because demand for them can be considerable during peak hours. Nearby long-term parking lots are available.

Arrivals

There is plenty of comfortable seating in the arrivals lounge for passengers disembarking in Southampton. There are restrooms with regular and accessible access, vending machines with a small range of snacks and drinks, and a magazine stand with free copies of periodicals, among other amenities.

Since the arrivals area is public, family members or friends who are going to meet you can enter, making it simpler for them to find you and more comfortable while they wait.

Departures

There is a designated space for dropping off your bags before you park as you go closer to the terminal. There will be porters available to assist you with your luggage, saving you time and relieving you of one more stress.

You will be dropped off immediately close to the luggage point if you are arriving by cab. Coach passengers will disembark in front of the terminal, close to the luggage area.

Check-In

It's time to get to check-in after you've given the porters your bags, making sure to carry any essentials like your passport and tickets with you. You should be able to get directions from the staff.

You must go through security after checking in before you can access the departure lounge.

One of Southampton's busiest terminals, the Ocean, offers a number of services to make your stay as convenient and cosy as possible.

Getting Here:

Travelling by car, getting there is easy. Just off the A33, Platform Road head for Dock Gate 4. Be sure to allow plenty of time during peak hours due to the potential for heavy traffic.

Dropping Off Your Luggage:

You don't need to be concerned if you're unsure because there is assistance available and clear signage at every turn. The luggage handling area is on your left as you get closer to the terminal. The drop-off point is nearby. Your bags will be handled quickly by porters. You'll have to carry your bags here on your own if you park.

Where to Park:

As you face the terminal, on your right is short-term parking, which is situated directly behind the coach bays. The long-term parking lot is located behind the short-term parking lot. Don't wait until the last minute to reserve a space because it won't be available on the day. This should be something that your travel agent or cruise line can arrange for you.

Terminal Building:

When you first arrive, the situation could seem a little chaotic. The building's front is framed by two huge doors. There is no need to worry about approaching from the wrong end because both sets go to the same receiving area. There are 100–150 seats downstairs. Take a few minutes to wait and unwind down here if you're waiting for a family member or friend to park.

Terminal Facilities

Café offer a range of refreshments in the departure lounge, with a good selection of food and drink available. Alcoholic beverages are also available.

Standard and disabled access toilets are located on both floors. Mother and baby changing facilities are upstairs, towards the back of the terminal. Wi-Fi is available at the terminal

Check In:

You'll need to go upstairs to do this. There are stairs, an escalator, and an elevator available. The check-in staff will be available to direct you to your destination.

The first three to five workstations are used for priority check-in, and a distinct line is clearly marked. There are about 30 to 40 desks available in total.

The busy QEII terminal in Southampton offers a variety of amenities to make your departure or arrival as seamless and quick as possible.

Getting Here

The terminal can be found off the A33, Platform Road in the Eastern Docks. Just follow signage for Dock Gate 4.

Arrival

There is an arrivals lounge with nice seating for passengers arriving at the QEII terminal. This is accessible to the general public, giving your friends and family the chance to meet you and wait for you inside in reasonable comfort.

In the arrivals area, amenities include bathrooms with standard and accessible access, vending machines with a small selection of drinks and snacks, and a magazine stand with a number of free periodicals. You may also get copies of Map & Guide to Southampton, which is useful for figuring out what's nearby as well as what the city has to offer.

Departures

Near the terminal is a sizable covered area where passengers can leave their belongings. Porters will assist you with your bags as you exit here if you are taking a taxi or a family member is dropping you off. If you're parking, come return here after you've done so. Where necessary, staff will guide you.

In the arrivals and departures areas of the QEII Cruise Terminal, Café Ceanos is open. Snacks, tea, coffee, and wine are provided for departing travellers, and everyone can have fresh tea and coffee during arrivals.

A short stay pay & display car park is available opposite the terminal. The nearby disabled parking slots must be reserved in advance through ABP. On-site long-term parking is available; however, it cannot be purchased on the spot. Make sure you reserve in advance because spaces might get busy during busy hours.

Check-In

Head into the terminal for check-in after leaving your luggage with the porters, keeping any hand luggage, tickets, and passports with you. To help you, there should be staff on duty.

You must go through security after checking in before continuing to the departure lounge.
